Community Guidelines

OverseasDesi helps people in the United States and Canada connect through classified listings, local services, property, vehicles, jobs, businesses, stores, and community information. These guidelines apply when you create an account, publish or respond to a listing, comment or rate, apply for a job, or contact another member. They work alongside our Terms of Use.

Treat other members with courtesy. Keep comments, ratings, replies, and support conversations relevant and civil. Do not threaten, harass, stalk, intimidate, shame, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop. Disagreement is fine; slurs, hate speech, discriminatory attacks, and targeted abuse are not.

Only post items, property, services, jobs, or business opportunities that you are authorized to offer. Use the correct category and location; describe condition, availability, eligibility, and important limits honestly; set a clear and genuine price; and update or remove a listing when it is no longer available. Do not impersonate another person or business, misrepresent credentials, or use misleading photos, titles, or claims.

Do not use the platform to offer illegal goods or services, stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons or controlled substances, adult services, or anything that violates applicable law. Do not publish hateful, threatening, sexually exploitative, or otherwise abusive material. Do not post content that facilitates fraud, identity theft, trafficking, or harm.

Do not create fake listings, request deposits under false pretenses, use forged documents, manipulate prices or reviews, or mislead people about payment, ownership, job offers, or delivery. Never ask another member for passwords, one-time codes, or gift cards. Be cautious with wire transfers and off-platform payment requests. Report suspicious activity rather than engaging with it.

Do not create duplicate or repetitive listings, send unsolicited bulk messages, manipulate search or ratings, or use listings and comments for unrelated advertising. Promotions should be truthful, relevant, and posted through the appropriate business or advertising feature.

Post only photos, videos, text, logos, and other material that you created or have permission to use. Do not copy another member’s listing or use someone else’s work, brand, or likeness in a way that infringes their rights. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, send us the details through the contact page.

Share only information you are comfortable making public. Do not publish another person’s private contact details, financial information, identity documents, precise home address, or private conversations without permission. Listings and comments can be visible to visitors. Our Privacy Policy describes information handled by the site.

Review a seller or provider carefully, ask questions, inspect an item or property where practical, and agree on the full terms before paying. Meet in a safe public place for local exchanges where appropriate. Do not share account credentials or verification codes. For jobs, verify the employer and never pay a recruiter for a promised position without independently checking the offer. OverseasDesi connects users; members are responsible for evaluating counterparties and transactions.

Use the report control on a listing or profile when available to flag suspected scam or fraud, misleading information, duplicate content, or inappropriate material. We may review reports and other signals, remove or limit content, ask for clarification, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts when we believe these guidelines or the Terms of Use have been violated or users may be at risk. We may act without advance notice where needed to protect members or the service. The response depends on the circumstances and applicable law; we cannot guarantee that every report will result in removal.

Repeated or serious violations, fraud, threats, attempts to evade enforcement, or activity that endangers the community may lead to account suspension or termination and removal of listings. If you believe an action was mistaken, contact support with your account details and an explanation. Do not create another account to bypass a restriction.
