Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide when you register, manage a profile, publish a listing or store, apply for a job, comment or rate a listing, contact support, or send us an enquiry. This can include your name, email address, phone number, profile image, location details, listing descriptions, prices, photos or video, and the content of messages or support requests. Some fields are optional and the information depends on the feature you use.

Accounts use a name, email address and password; the service also supports Google and Facebook sign-in when configured and selected. Passwords are hashed by the backend before storage. Email verification and password reset flows use verification tokens. Your profile may also include a phone number, profile image, country, and address, city, state, postal code, or location coordinates.

The application records listing views and stores IP addresses and user-agent information with comments for moderation and abuse prevention. The backend also creates timestamps for records. The site loads Google Tag Manager, but the specific tags and analytics or advertising services configured through that container are not visible in this codebase; their collection practices depend on that configuration.

We use information to operate accounts and profiles; publish, search, display, and manage listings; support favorites, comments, ratings, and job applications; authenticate users and verify email; send account, listing, and support-related emails and notifications; respond to enquiries; protect the service and review reported or potentially abusive activity; and maintain the website.

Listings, store details, images or videos, and comments or ratings can be shown to other visitors as part of the marketplace. Avoid placing sensitive personal information in public listing descriptions, comments, or media. Contact details provided in a listing may be visible to prospective buyers or service users. Profile information is used in public author displays where the relevant feature presents it.

The site uses an authentication cookie named AuthCookies, set in the browser for seven days, and uses local storage for cookie preference, saved listing drafts, and support-chat history. A cookie-choice banner lets visitors choose all cookies, essential only, or dismiss the notice. Google Tag Manager is loaded by the site; we cannot determine from this repository which tags are active or whether they set additional cookies. You can manage or clear cookies and local storage in your browser, though some features may then stop working.

We make marketplace content available as needed to provide the service and share information with service providers that support functions used by the site. For example, listing, profile, and store media are uploaded to Cloudinary; account emails are sent through Resend; Google and Facebook are contacted when you use those sign-in options; and Google reCAPTCHA verification is used on protected flows when configured. We may also disclose information when required to respond to lawful requests or protect users and the service. The site code does not establish that personal information is sold; we make no broader claim about tags configured outside this repository.

Third-party services have their own privacy practices and may process information under their terms: Cloudinary for media, Resend for email delivery, Google and Facebook for optional authentication, Google reCAPTCHA for verification, and Google Tag Manager for loading configured tags. Please review those providers’ notices. The exact Google Tag Manager tags in production require confirmation by the site operator.

The application stores account and marketplace records in MongoDB and media through Cloudinary. Passwords are hashed, and authentication uses signed tokens. These implementation details do not guarantee that every transmission or stored record is protected by a particular security standard; deployment and infrastructure controls are outside this codebase. We retain information while needed to provide features, operate records, address support requests, or meet legal and operational needs. The project does not define a universal retention schedule for all record types.

You can update profile information through account settings, manage browser cookies and local storage, and request help through our support channels. A signed-in user can delete their account from the profile page. The current deletion flow removes the user, their listings, job applications, comments, stores, and associated profile/listing/store media where deletion succeeds. Other records, such as support or notification records, are not all removed by that flow, so contact us to ask about a specific record. Deletion may be irreversible.

The Terms of Use state that users must be at least 18 to create an account. The platform is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect their information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can review it.

OverseasDesi serves users in the United States and Canada and relies on third-party providers. The application code does not specify the physical locations where all information is stored or processed. Information may therefore be handled in locations determined by our hosting and service providers; the operator should confirm applicable locations and transfer arrangements.

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will revise the date or page content when changes are made. Continued use after an update means you have had an opportunity to review the revised policy, subject to rights that apply under local law.
